Gas Technical Projects Regarding Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) /Joint Implementation (JI)

The change of the climate because of emission of greenhouse gases is one of the biggest dangers to the environment and the social and economical life on earth.
Many industrial countries have signed the Kyoto-Protocol in order to limit the emission of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and a number of fluoride compounds.

Kyoto-Protocol
In the Kyoto-Protocol it is agreed that the participating countries may also realise a part of their emission reduction by taking measures abroad. Some environmentally favourable measures are cheaper to realise abroad than in their own country. Countries can also buy emission rights from other countries, in order to avoid penalties when the target reduction values are not reached (and thus the treaty is violated).

The Kyoto-Protocol has introduced three flexible mechanisms to achieve realistic, long-lasting, measurable and cost-effective greenhouse gas emission reductions:

• International Emissions Trading (IET),
• Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, and
• Joint Implementation (JI).
