Quality care has become an on-going concern, also within the education sector. Schools are increasingly expected to guarantee quality. With the help of Kiwa, ambitious educational institutions may create a systematic quality care system.
Such an integrated system helps to avoid ad hoc decisions, for instance . Decisions that may have a positive short-term effect but that do not necessarily contribute towards the quality of the education and the guaranteeing of this quality in the long term. Results will be achieved more quickly because board and faculty are dedicated to work effectively towards improving the quality.
Certification not only improves staff motivation, it also gives parents and students insight in the quality of the school. Another advantage is that the school inspectorate will suffice with verifying and validating the school's self-evaluation. Universities and higher vocational education institutions which include quality management in their curriculum may order the Kiwa publication 'Zicht op certificatie', both for themselves and for their students. 'Zicht op certificatie' offers a comprehensive overview of certification. It is available both in book form and as lecture notes (at this moment only available in Dutch)
