Health & Care
The health, care and welfare sector is becoming increasingly market and customer oriented. The Kwaliteitswet Zorginstellingen (Care Institutions (Quality) Act) forces care institutions to offer responsible care and to systematically monitor, manage and improve the quality of the care on the basis of a quality system. This is the responsibility of the organisations themselves.
Based on ISO 9001, HKZ (Harmonisation of quality review in health care and welfare) is the standard for the care sector. Since 1996 Kiwa has formed part of the Stichting HKZ. Moreover, Kiwa is accredited by the Board of Accreditation for a large number of certification systems, including most HKZ schemes. This makes Kiwa an expert, reliable and independent partner with respect to HKZ certification.
Our expert auditors participate in HKZ work groups and advise on the introduction of new schemes. They not only review but also recommend improvements. Prior to certification Kiwa may carry out a test audit. This test audit gives the client insight in his system and identifies problems for which it provides solutions. In this manner, candidates are given the opportunity to experience an external audit before actually being put to the test.
